“What I discussed with Mr. Grenell was rather cordial, informal, very concentrated,” Hurezeanu told Euronews Romania on Tuesday. He added that the discussion took place casually in a hotel lobby. Grenell merely expressed interest in the Tate brothers’ case before the two went their separate ways.
The Tate brothers were arrested in 2022 on charges of human trafficking, sexual misconduct, and money laundering. They deny the accusations. In January, a Romanian appeals court sent their case back to prosecutors. This allowed the brothers to leave house arrest, but they remain banned from leaving Romania.
Meanwhile, Romanian authorities are considering their extradition to the U.K., where they face additional charges, including rape and human trafficking.
