As the holiday season nears, Amazon plans to hire 250,000 seasonal, part-time, and full-time employees across the U.S. These workers will support customer fulfillment and transportation operations. This hiring drive matches last year’s effort to meet the holiday shopping surge.

Amazon expressed excitement about the holidays, saying, “This time of year creates many opportunities for people to earn extra money or start careers with Amazon.”

Attractive Pay and Benefits for Seasonal Workers

Amazon offers competitive pay, starting at $18 per hour for seasonal employees. Workers also gain access to benefits like health care from day one, dental and vision coverage, and a 401(k) plan with company match. With benefits included, total compensation can exceed $29 per hour.

Other perks include up to 20 weeks of paid parental leave, mental health resources, and financial support services. These benefits aim to provide stability and support for seasonal employees during their time with Amazon.

Career Growth Opportunities Beyond the Holidays

Amazon views seasonal roles as potential gateways to long-term careers. Seasonal workers who stay with Amazon see average pay increases of 15% over three years. About one-third of employees return annually, showing the value of these roles for career advancement.

“Many seasonal employees stay on and build their careers with Amazon,” the company shared, emphasizing opportunities for growth and development.

How to Apply for Amazon Jobs

Interested individuals can visit amazon.com/localjobs or text NEWJOB to 31432 for job alerts. New roles will be posted throughout the season, but they tend to fill quickly. Applying early is encouraged to secure a position.

Amazon’s seasonal hiring reflects its commitment to meeting customer demand while offering meaningful opportunities for workers. This initiative provides a chance to earn extra income and potentially launch a long-term career with the company.
