A Russian missile strike on a critical infrastructure site in Zaporizhzhia killed at least six people on Tuesday, reported regional governor Ivan Fedorov. The attack, which injured 24 others, also sparked a large fire at the facility, according to Fedorov’s statement on Telegram.
Later the same day, Russian drones struck a five-story apartment building in Kharkiv, injuring two women who were treated on-site, Kharkiv regional governor Oleh Syniehubov confirmed.
Both Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv have seen intensified Russian attacks in recent weeks, as they are close to the frontlines. Zaporizhzhia, a key logistical and industrial center, also houses Europe’s largest nuclear power plant.
In Kharkiv, Russian strikes have repeatedly hit residential areas. A recent attack on October 28 damaged the Derzhprom building, a historic structure under UNESCO protection since 2022. Another recent strike targeted a neighborhood in the Shevchenkivskyi district, injuring at least 15 people.
