Astronaut in Hospital after coming back from space

Of the four astronauts coming from the mission one has an unspecified medical condition

A NASA astronaut from the recently returned Crew-8 mission is currently hospitalized due to an unspecified medical issue but remains in stable condition, NASA reports.

The Crew-8 team, which included NASA astronauts Matthew Dominick, Michael Barratt, and Jeanette Epps, along with Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Grebenkin, splashed down safely off the coast of Florida on Friday after nearly eight months on the International Space Station.

Following a standard re-entry and recovery process by SpaceX’s Dragon capsule, crew members underwent routine medical checks on the recovery ship. During these assessments, an “additional evaluation” was recommended as a precaution, NASA stated, without providing further details.

All four astronauts were then transported to Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola for further evaluation. Three have since been discharged, while one NASA astronaut remains hospitalized “under observation as a precaution.”

Out of respect for the astronaut’s privacy, NASA has chosen not to disclose specific medical information but indicated that further updates will be provided as available.
